The University of California’s Office of the President (UCOP) conducted a review of PPSM-36: Classification of Positions policy. The revised policy went into effect on April 1, 2024.
Revisions
The policy revisions are substantive and include, but are not limited to:
- added definitions for clarity and understanding,
- added substantial content to align policy with systemwide and location practices:
- position description
- classification authority
- position evaluation
- clarified systemwide and location responsibilities
- implementation of the policy
- compliance with the policy
