As UC Riverside prepares to gradually repopulate campus in the fall quarter, updates to policies, procedures and technology are required to provide a safer environment for our students, faculty and staff. With this preparation in mind you may have already received another email asking you to voluntarily submit information regarding your COVID-19 vaccination status. The information collected through your submission will be retained in your employee medical record, which is separate from your general personnel file.
In order to better serve the UC Riverside community, the campus will be utilizing the highly secured EPIC system (the same gold standard, secured platform utilized by the UC Health campuses and other large health care entities for electronic medical records) to house your employee health record. The employee health records will be kept separate from medical records already in the EPIC system and will not be made a part of the UC Health platform.
In order to facilitate the transition, we will need to use your Social Security number (SSN) to create an EPIC profile for you within the EPIC system. If you wish to not have your SSN utilized to create an EPIC profile, please email HRPolicy@ucr.edu by June 8, 2021.
Please note, unless you wish to opt out of your SSN being utilized, no action is necessary on your part for the creation of an EPIC profile. While this request is made under the authority of the Regents of the University of California under Art. IX, Sec. 9 of the California Constitution, the disclosure and use of your SSN is voluntary and you must affirmatively opt out to convey that you do not consent.
