University of California Behavioral Providers

Those enrolled in UC medical coverage may contact the following providers:

Behavioral Health Benefits for HMO plans

  • UC Blue & Gold HMO members may access care from MHN in-network providers.
  • Kaiser members may access care from Kaiser behavioral health providers or from Optum in-network providers.

You do not need a referral from your primary care provider to see a behavioral health provider, but some services require preauthorization. You are welcome to contact the following behavioral health providers for immediate assistance:

Behavioral Health Benefits for PPO plans

  • UC Health Savings Plan (HSP) and UC Care members have access to Anthem Blue Cross in-network providers.
  • UC HSP and UC Care members also have access to out-of-network providers. If you choose to see an out-of-network provider, your costs will be higher and you may need to pay your provider directly for services and submit a claim for reimbursement.
  • Some services require preauthorization. For information about your benefits and help finding an in-network provider, call Anthem at (844) 437-0486.

UCR Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) – ComPsych®

UCR’s new FSAP provider, through its GuidanceResources®, offers additional resources for faculty, staff and their household family members including confidential support, and resources and information for personal and work-life issues.

GuidanceResources is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When you call, you will speak with a GuidanceConsultantSM, a master’s or PhD level counselor, who will collect general information about you and will talk with you about your needs. The GuidanceConsultant will provide the name of a counselor who can assist you. You can then set up an appointment to speak with the counselor over the phone or schedule a face-to-face visit.
