Medical
Plan Costs
2021 Employee Medical Plan Costs |
You and UC share the costs of your medical plan premium; UC contributes up to 100 percent of the cost, depending on the plan and the coverage you choose, as well as your Medical Contribution Base (MCB), which is based on your full-time salary rate as of January 1, 2020. Medical plan rates are tiered (based on your MCB) so that the cost you pay for medical insurance is somewhat proportional to your pay rate. Your MCB will not change during 2021, even if your salary changes. Choose the appropriate salary tier below to see the monthly amount that you will pay for your medical plan in 2021: For more information about 2021 Employee Medical Plan Costs, please visit the UCnet Open Enrollment webpage. |
Supplemental
Health
Plans
Supplemental Health Plans |
UC offers three supplemental insurance options — Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity plans — that pay cash benefits if you experience a covered accident, illness or hospital stay. UC’s Supplemental Health Plans are not a substitute for medical or disability coverage, but they can complement your coverage with extra protection against the unexpected. Depending on the coverage you select, you will receive a pre-determined cash payment if you’re injured, ill or hospitalized — regardless of your actual medical costs or lost income. The payment is yours to use however you choose. During Open Enrollment, you may enroll in one, two or all three plans:
Please note: Supplemental Health Plans are administered by Aflac. Please view the Video: Supplemental Health Plans to receive more information about the benefits of each plan and enroll with Aflac.
