This communication is to inform the campus of the revised Presidential Policies PPSM-20: Recruitment and Promotion and PPSM-21: Selection and Appointment. The revised policies are effective April 21, 2025.
Who The Revisions Impact
The proposed revision applies to policy-covered employees in the Professional & Support Staff (PPS), Managers and Senior Professionals (SPP), and Senior Management Group (SMG) personnel groups.
Policy Revisions
Revisions to the policy include:
Technical and compliance with law review and revision due to the revocation of Executive Order 11246 and to make typographical amendments.
Review Policy and Revisions
Tracked changes of the policies PPSM 20 and PPSM 21 are posted on the UCR HR website, and clean copies of PPSM 20 and PPSM 21 are posted on UC’s website at UCnet.
Next Steps
Central HR Policy and Talent Acquisition will begin to review the local procedures for PPSM-20 and PPSM-21 to align with policy revisions. Employees covered by the PPSM-20 and PPSM-21 who have questions on the policy revisions may submit them to HRPolicy@ucr.edu.
