UC Retirement Benefits

Preparing for a successful retirement is one of the biggest financial responsibilities you will face. UC offers a comprehensive array of retirement benefits, savings programs and educational and counseling resources to help you plan for retirement.

Financial Education and Guidance

UC offers retirement services and tools to assist faculty and staff in career-long financial planning for retirement. You may register for financial education classes/workshops or you can schedule a one-on-one financial consultation with a Fidelity Investments Retirement Planner.

One-On-One-Consultation

Individual financial planning is also available throughout the year. You may schedule One-on-One Retirement Counseling with a Fidelity Investments Retirement Planner by calling (800) 558-9182. Regardless of what stage you are in for planning your retirement, whether it's in the next few months or even the next year or so, the first step of the process should be to review the following retirement resources.

      This presentation provides an overview of your UC retirement benefits, examples of retirement benefits, calculations, and information about what you need to do to retire from UC. It consists of 8 brief modules. The full presentation lasts about 60 minutes, but you can easily view those specific sections that interest you.

      Learn about the overall Retirement Plan, including: Retirement Savings Program, Retiree Health & Welfare Benefits, and how to enroll in the plan. You will also be able to find valuable links to additional resources including the UC Focus on Your Future.

Pre-Retirement Information and Resources

Human Resources recommends that faculty and staff contact RASC with their initial retirement questions. However, if you should have any additional questions, HR will have a dedicated staff member available to provide assistance.

Appointments are available throughout the year and take place in the central Human Resources Benefits Office located at University Village, Suite 208. To schedule a confidential pre-retirement 30-minute appointment, email the Benefits Office at benefits@ucr.edu for assistance.

Prudential Life Insurance Conversion Estimator Tool

Prudential offers a life insurance conversion estimator tool on the Prudential microsite for UC members. This helpful tool allows employees who are considering converting their insurance benefit to preview an estimate of the premiums before they decide to convert.
