Professional Development

UCR staff are encouraged to pursue professional development and life-long learning opportunities. Adults can anticipate changing careers at least five times during their working lives. In order to provide assistance in meeting this challenge, there are numerous campus and systemwide services available.

Academic Business Officers Group (ABOG)

ABOG is a UC Systemwide committee that serves as a network to provide and exchange information about important issues that impact campus business practices. ABOG hosts conferences and meetings, where information about opportunities can be circulated.

Business Officers Institute (BOI)

BOI offers an opportunity to communicate with Business and Finance senior management on issues directly concerning Business Officers and their organizations. The Institute encourages discussions on the role of the Business Officer, available resources and current challenges in Financial Management, Audit and Control, Sponsored Projects, Human Resources and Information Systems.
