Cyber Security Awareness Training

As part of the University’s efforts to address the increasing threats to the security of our information systems and data, Cyber Security Awareness training is required of faculty and staff at all UC locations. Each member of the University community has a responsibility to safeguard the information assets entrusted to us. This training program will better prepare all of us to fulfill this responsibility and to strengthen our defenses against future attacks.

The Cyber Security Awareness online courses have been revised and the new versions are now available via the UC Learning Center (LMS) ( When the revised course is released, the assignments will resume and those who are due to complete it or have never completed it will receive notifications to complete the training.

Anyone who has never completed Cyber Security Awareness training, will be assigned the full version of the updated course. Then going forward, they will be required to complete a shorter refresher course on an annual basis.

Anyone who has completed the previous version of the course will be assigned the shorter refresher course. Then going forwarded will be required to complete the shorter refresher course on an annual basis.

Additional language versions of the full course in Spanish and Mandarin are planned and will be released to the campus as they become available from the vendor.
