Performance Management Requirements for CX Staff
(Effective December 13, 2011) 

  • Clerical Unit employees who receive a “needs improvement” rating in any category(ies) of performance that represent at least 51% of her/his job expectations must have been informed of any such deficiencies, including information about how to correct such deficiencies, prior to receiving the annual written appraisal. 

  •  Should an employee choose not to sign the performance appraisal, the supervisor should provide a signed affirmation noting “employee did not sign appraisal” and indicate the date the employee was provided the evaluation.

  • Once the employee has been provided their appraisal, the employee has one week to attach rebuttal information and/or documentation to the appraisal.  The appraisal and rebuttal information is to be reviewed by the department head prior to finalizing the appraisal and sending it to the employee’s personnel file.
  • Within one month after receiving a performance appraisal, an employee may write comments pertaining to his/her appraisal or add relevant materials .  Any such comments or materials shall be attached to the performance appraisal and placed in the employee’s personnel file.
