Diversify and Train the Search Committee Tutorial

Diversify and Train the Search Committee tutorial provides the rationale for a diverse search committee. It includes a review of the responsibilities of the search committee with special emphasis placed on affirmative action and equal employment opportunity elements. Links to additional resources are also made available. Viewing this tutorial satisfies the training requirement for search committee members.

The Role of the Affirmative Action and Compliance Liaison

This workshop will cover core responsibilities of the Affirmative Action & Compliance Liaison (AACL) on staff search committees. Video vignettes are used to illustrate key points. This tutorial satisfies the training requirement for search committee members acting as the AACL.

Sharing jobs with LinkedIn Groups which target diverse members is another way to advertise to a diverse talent pool. To locate and join diversity focused LinkedIn Groups you must have a LinkedIn account. Signing up is easy. A brief listing of listing of diversity focused LinkedIn Groups can be found by clicking on the spreadsheet below:

Diversity Outreach

Partnering with local community based organizations and national diversity associations are other great sources for locating diverse talent. In addition to submitting your job postings to these organizations, you should also participate in job fairs, networking events and consider hosting their organization meetings on campus.
