The Benefits Office offers educational programs that provide workshops for employees to learn more about their benefits and retirement plans. These programs are:
New Employee Benefits Orientation
Intended for new employees, this program offer workshops to help employees with understanding the benefit and retirement package prior to enrolling.
Benefits Office Educational Programs
These programs offer workshops on the various benefit plans at no cost to employees. Workshops will be listed on the UC Learning Center as they are offered.
How to Sign Up
- Sign-up online at http://www.ucrlearning.ucr.edu.
- Enter your UCR NetID and password
- Type in “benefits” in the search field and click Go
- Click on the title of the class you wish to attend and select Register
- Review the activity details and select Submit
- Click the Learner icon at the top of the page to return to home page and repeat process for additional classes
Retirement and Savings Plans Educational Program
Presented by Fidelity Investments, this program will provide workshops and presentations on the UC Retirement, Defined Contribution (DCP), 403(b), and 457(b) plans, investment options, transfers, rollovers, and retirement planning. The workshops are available at no cost. The current schedule of classes is available on the UC Focus On Your Future website.
Retirement and Savings Plans Departmental Workshops
Fidelity Investments Senior Retirement Counselor, Jeff Crowley, is available to tailor an educational program to meet the needs of individual departments. He is available to conduct the financial education sessions at a time and location that is convenient for the department and at no cost.
These sessions discuss the advantages of the UC Retirement Savings program and are designed specifically for UC faculty and staff. Topics include the following:
- How to create an investment strategy
- How to manage your account
- How to create an income plan
- How to manage your personal finances
Fidelity can also offer a "help desk" which allows employees to ask individual general questions about the Retirement Savings Program.
