Are You Ready to Retire?

Regardless of what stage you are in for planning your retirement, whether it's in the next few months or even the next year or so, the first step of the process should be to view the Preparing for Retirement video. This presentation provides an overview of your UC retirement benefits, examples of retirement benefits, calculations, and information about what you need to do to retire from UC. It consists of 8 brief modules. The full presentation lasts about 60 minutes, but you can easily view those specific sections that interest you.

The What to do if You're Preparing for Retirement website will walk you through the step-by-step process to help you complete the application process and the election of your retirement benefits.

The UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) is your resource to learn about the overall Retirement Plan, including: Retirement Savings Program, Retiree Health & Welfare Benefits, and how to enroll in the plan. You will also be able to find valuable links to additional resources including the UC Focus on Your Future.

Pre-Retirement Information and Resources

On an ongoing basis, Human Resources has a dedicated staff member available to faculty and staff who have additional questions and/or need assistance with the retirement process after contacting RASC.  Faculty and staff will be able to email Tina Rodriguez at tina.rodriguez@ucr.edu to schedule a confidential pre-retirement 30-minute appointment. Tina's office is located in Human Resources, University Village, suite 208.

A Pre-Retirement Information and Resources Checklist is available to assist you in identifying all the necessary information and documents to complete the retirement process.

Throughout the year, faculty and staff have access to resources to help with pre-retirement counseling and financial planning. The following resources are available for you to view on the UCNet website.
